Brunello Cucinelli Double Breasted Quilted Corduroy Jacket - 38
This jacket is my first interaction with Brunello Cucinelli after hearing so much over the years.
I mean, sure everything I have seen is aesthetically right up my Straße but was it worth all the sartorial hubbub?
In a word, yes! oh god yes! (maths was never my strong point).
I won't go into forensic detail but can put it down to 2 things. Ridiculous quality of material - from the lush corduroy to signature eco feather quilting. You can tell it is something special just by holding it.
Secondly, the cut is crazy good! a garment with this substantial 'heft' is not easy to manipulate around the contours of the male physique in the way it does. That along with the perfectly sized lappels gives a truly understated elegance on a warm transitional piece.
I acquired this from a Savile Row tailor who has sadly got a bit plumper since lockdown, and only got to wear it on two occasions prior. His loss (or lack of it) can be your gain, I mean just look at Cucinelli's website for how much these things are new.
Totally worth it though.
